Witchcraft Challenge

The challenge is ‘the moment at the beginning of a witchcraft initiation ceremony into a Wicca circle when the candidate is met, at the gateway.’ This initiation into witchcraft is a test for the candidate to see whether they possess the courage in order to pass from the world of men and into the Lords of the Outer Spaces. This challenge varies between different covens. The candidate only passes through the gate if they accept the challenge and dismisses fear. Once they have done this they move towards their symbolic rebirth as a Wiccan.
